According to Shijiazhuang Customs of Hebei Province, in the first four months of this year, the total import and export value between Hebei Province and ASEAN countries reached RMB 28.9 billion ($4.2 billion), rising by 38.7 percent year on year, making ASEAN the largest trading partner of Hebei Province.

In particular, the export value of steel products from Hebei Province to ASEAN amounted to RMB 3.77 billion ($0.55 billion) in the given period, rising by 1.3-fold year on year.

As of January 1 this year, China announced to implement the export license on steel products, while Hebei steel enterprises demonstrated strong capabilities in compliant exports and have adapted to the new policy, which contributed to its 1.3-fold year-on-year rise of export value of steel products. Meanwhile, ASEAN countries continuously promoted the infrastructure projects, including ports, railway and power station, having strong demand for long and flat steel products.
