Russian steelmaker and iron ore producer Evraz Group (Evraz) has announced its plans to increase the reinforcing steel bar output at its subsidiary West-Siberian Steel Works (ZapSib).
With this aim, Evraz has implemented a large-scale investment project for the modernization of the light section mill 250-2 at ZapSib's section rolling shop, directed towards the increase of its production capacity. As a result, this year ZapSib will be able to additionally produce about 30,000 mt of reinforcing bars, and, starting from 2011, over 50,000 mt annually.
ZapSib's light section mill 250-2 is scheduled to start operating at new designed capacities in May 2010.
