The Russian mining and steel producing company Evraz Group has confirmed that it is "considering its options" regarding its 40 percent indirect equity stake in Raspadskaya Coal Company (Raspadskaya), the second largest coking coal producer in Russia.

Evraz said that it will refrain from further comments on media speculations regarding the potential disposal of its stake in Raspadskaya unless a binding course of action is defined.

Accordingly, last week local Russian media reported citing sources close to the matter that the main shareholders of Raspadskaya - Evraz and Raspadskaya's management - want to put the company up for sale.
