Within the framework of the agreement signed between the European Community and Russia on October 26, 2007 regarding the trade of certain steel products, the renewed quota allocated to Russia for 2010 has increased by 2.5 percent compared to 2009, to 3,184,445 mt.
According to the official release issued by the European Commission on November 13, the new quotas for Russian steel exports to the EU for 2010 (original 2009 figures are included for comparison) are as follows:

The agreement provides that unused quantities for a given year may be carried over to the following year up to a maximum of seven percent of the relevant quantitative limit set out in the agreement. As in 2008, in the current year Russia has notified the Community of its intent to make use of this provision. The new adjusted quotas per each product for the year 2009, resulting from Russia's request are as follows:
