EU-27 steel imports decline in September from August levels

According to the European steel association EUROFER, in the month of September this year EU-27 flat steel imports reached 1.186 million mt, while long steel imports amounted to 274,000 mt. Accordingly, overall EU-27 steel imports in September totaled 1.460 million mt, down 4.67 percent month on month and up 0.55 percent compared to the same month last year.

In addition, in the first nine months of current year EU-27 total steel imports amounted to 16.243 million mt, increasing by 38.16 percent compared to the same period of 2010.
