Iranian steelmaker Esfahan Steel's semi-finished steel (billet and bloom) output in the first seven months of the current Iranian year (started March 21) amounted to 1,326,000 mt, while its long steel product (mainly I-beam, rebar and wire rod) output reached 1,664,000 mt, respectively declining by three percent and increasing by five percent year on year, according to the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
Esfahan Steel has been renovating its blast furnaces No. 1 and No. 2 for a few months now, and this has negatively impacted its crude steel output. The steelmaker had significantly increased its production capacity in early 2010 with the commissioning of its third blast furnace with an annual production capacity of 1.4 million mt.
