Costa Rican scrap exports decline in October

Costa Rican scrap exports in October 2015 declined 47.1 percent, year-on-year, according to information from the country’s export promotion agency, Procomer.

Scrap exports in October reached 5,977 mt, down from 11,320 mt in the same period of the year prior.

Top export destinations in October included South America and Asia, which received 3,209 mt and 2,441 mt of the product, respectively. Only 23.1 mt of scrap was exported to the European Union in October and just 304.4 mt to Central America.

Exports revenues fell by 70.3 percent, year-on-year, to USD 806,800 in October 2015.
