Costa Rican scrap exports decline in June

Costa Rican exports of scrap declined 27.5 percent in June, year-on-year, according to information from the nation’s finance ministry.

According to the ministry, Costa Rica exported 7,512 mt of scrap in June this year, down from 10,372 mt the year prior.

The country’s export revenues in June declined 87.4 percent, year-on-year, to $1.4 million. Top destinations in June included Korea (3,312 mt), Taiwan (2,134 mt) and Ecuador (653 mt).
