Mr Mohammed Al-Jabr, VP Middle East of ArcelorMittal Middle East, has told SteelOrbis at the SteelOrbis Fall '09 Conference & 61st IREPAS Meeting being held in Dubai that ArcelorMittal is looking to participate in the growth of the Middle East region.

Accordingly, ArcelorMittal and a local investor intend to build a seamless tube/pipe mill in Saudi Arabia, especially with a view to supplying oil and gas companies. The mill will have a capacity of 600,000 mt a year and the targeted deadline for the start of production operations is in two years' time, in late 2011. The mill will be located in Jubail II in Saudi Arabia, and will have the biggest production capacity in the industrial city in question.
