Construction of a second coking plant in the Iranian city of Zarand is expected to commence in the coming Iranian year (starts March 21, 2011). The plant will have a capacity of 400,000 mt per year and will be built with an investment of about Rials 750 billion (approx. $70 million).

The first coking plant in Zarand with an annual capacity of 400,000 mt - which was the first coking plant to be built in Iran - formally commenced production operations in October 2008. Zarand is located near the Zarand coal mine which holds one of the main deposits of coal in Iran.
