Despite years of delay and fierce opposition from various groups, the Cape Wind Energy Project (Cape Wind) has received federal government funding to begin construction and operations.
The Cape Wind project will include 130 wind turbine generators that will provide enough electricity to power approximately 400,000 homes on Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket once fully operational.
