Connecticut steel distributor aims to expand northward with recent acquisition

Meriden, Connecticut-based Logan Steel Co. announced Tuesday that is has acquired Cesco Steel Co. of Torrington, Connecticut in an effort to expand its market into Upstate New York and Western Massachusetts by establishing a presence in the northwest region of the state.

The deal, completed July 1, was valued at $600,000, according to local reports.

Logan Steel Co., which provides steel primarily to welding and fabrication firms, will now have a workforce of 35. Anthony A. Pasquariello, owner of Cesco, also will join Logan Steel.
