France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) has announced that the situation in French industry has deteriorated again in March, according to a survey carried out among French business leaders, while the industrial business climate indicator was stable in March compared to February but is significantly below the long-term average.

Looking at the outlook for their own individual production, French business leaders consider that the production outlook has improved but remained weak in the French manufacturing industry. The general production outlook, which represents business leaders' opinion on French industry as a whole, is down slightly. Total order books deteriorated and export order books increased slightly but they remained significantly below the long-term average.

On the other hand, the situation continues to deteriorate in the French building industry, where the business climate indicator in March has lost a point compared to February and remains below its long-term average. The turning-point indicator is in the unfavorable zone.
