Colombian iron and steel export volume down 7.7 percent in Jan-Apr

In the January-April period this year, Colombia exported 51,580 mt of ferronickel, up 25.6 percent, with a value of $179.8 million, increasing by 12.5 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE).

In the given period, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 74,479 mt, down 7.7 percent, with a value of $223 million, falling by 1.2 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In April, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 20,992 mt, falling by 30.1 percent, and were worth $71.6 million, down 15.4 percent, both compared to the same month of 2018.
