In the first 11 months of last year, Colombia exported 126,538 mt of ferronickel, falling 5.1 percent, with a value of $628.12 million, down 22.5 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In November, the country's ferronickel exports amounted to 10,696 mt, decreasing by 31.6 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $45.44 million, down 49.6 percent, both compared to November 2012.
In November last year, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 24,2369 mt, falling 21.1 percent, and were worth $57,49 million, down 44.2 percent, both compared to the same month of 2012. In the first 11 months of 2013, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 236.445 mt, down 21.3 percent year on year, with a value of $786.38 million, down 26.1 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in January-November period of last year Colombia imported 2.45 million mt of iron and steel, decreasing by 1.4 percent year on year, with a value of $2.20 billion, down 11.4 percent.
