Colombian crude steel output up in September

Colombian crude steel production in September rose 12.5 percent, year-on-year, to 100,206 mt, according to the nation’s Committee of Steel Producers, (CPA). Crude steel output dropped 12.7 percent, month-on-month, from 114,889 mt.

CPA said long steel production in September was 108,054 mt, down from 115,304 mt in September 2017. Long steel production improved 11.8 percent, month-on-month, from 96,581 mt in August this year.

According to CPA, accumulated crude steel output from January to September reached 902,448 mt, 4.9 percent down, year-on-year. Long steel production in the January-September period totaled 933,875 mt, down from 1.01 million mt in the same period of 2017.
