Coal shipments by China’s railways down 13.5 percent in Jan-Nov

On December 27, China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) announced that in November this year coal shipments by Chinese railways amounted to 156 million mt, down 18.2 percent year on year, while in the January-November period coal shipments totaled 1.82 billion mt, decreasing by 13.5 percent year on year.

In the January-November period this year, the railway line from Datong, Shanxi Province to Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province transported 364 million mt of coal, down 11.6 percent, while the railway line from Houma, Shanxi to Yueshan, Henan transported 150 million mt of coal, declining by 12.1 percent, both year on year.
