China’s overall rail freight volume down 10.53 percent in 2015

China Railway Corporation (CRC) has announced that in the whole of 2015 the freight volume transported on China’s railways amounted to 3.4 billion mt, down 10.53 percent, while the freight traffic volume on China’s railways totaled 2.42 trillion mt-km, down 12 percent, both year on year.

In the years from 2012 to 2014, the freight volume transported on China’s railways decreased by 1.8 percent, 0.4 percent and 4.7 percent, while the freight traffic volume on China’s railways declined by 1.5 percent, 1.4 percent and 6.5 percent both year on year, respectively.
