Coal inventory slides down at Chinese port of Qinhuangdao

Coal inventory at Qinhuangdao port in the northeastern Chinese province of Hebei.reached 8.694 million mt on March 21 - the highest level to date this year. The port was shut to navigation for several times this March due to severe weather conditions. Subsequently, however, by April 12, coal inventory levels at the port had fallen to 6.58 million mt, down by 24.32 percent on the March 21 figure.

From April 1 to April 11, 5.849 million mt of coal arrived at the port, declining by 16.12 percent compared with the volume which arrived in the late March period (March 21-31).
