Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe announced Monday that Commercial Metals Co. (CMC), will build a $12 million rebar facility in King George County.

The King George County Board of Supervisors announced the possibility of a new manufacturing plant in May, and signed a resolution supporting the application for state rail funds by a company known only as HGAC LLC, of Delaware. HGAC reportedly wanted to buy 32 acres in the park for $1.37 million, but the deal was contingent on the company getting $450,000 from the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation. After the funds were approved—to be used in building 4,200 feet of railroad track—and contracts signed, the company identified as CMC.
