CMC to acquire rebar fabricator
Texas-based Commercial Metals Company (CMC) announced Monday (November 14) that it will acquire Virginia rebar fabricator Hall-Hodges Company for an undisclosed amount. The Hall-Hodges Company and its approximately 50 employees will join CMC's East Rebar Group, serving the US East Coast with rebar and construction supplies. Commenting on the acquisition, CMC Steel Group executive vice president and East Rebar regional manager Jeff Selig said, “The acquisition will strengthen CMC's presence in the eastern Virginia area and improve our opportunity to grow in the region. We will retain Hall-Hodges' skilled work force and management team to meet our goal of providing the best product and service to our customers.” CMC will continue to supply rebars primarily from its South Carolina mill. Commercial Metals Company and subsidiaries manufacture, recycle, and market steel and metal products, related materials and services through a network including steel minimills, steel fabrication and processing plants, construction-related product warehouses, a copper tube mill, metal recycling facilities and marketing and distribution offices in the United States and in strategic overseas markets.CMC to acquire rebar fabricator
