Civil construction activity in Brazil rose to 37.9 points in December 2016 from 33.3 points in December 2015, in a scale from zero to 100, in which values above 50 show growth, Brazil’s confederation of industries, CNI, said this week.
According to CNI, the country’s civil construction activity declined on month-on-month basis, from 39.3 points in November 2016.
The utilization of the industry’s capacity in December was stable at 56 percent for the third consecutive month, CNI said, below the historic average. In December 2015, the utilization of the industry’s capacity was at 55 percent.
The indicator that measures the number of job positions in the industry declined to 36 points in December last year, down from 36.8 points in November 2016.
