CISA: Coking coal purchase costs in China down 1.09 percent in Q1

In the January-March period this year, the weighted-average purchase costs in China of coking coal, metallurgical coke and ferrous scrap decreased by 1.09 percent, 3.11 percent and 2.28 percent year on year, while the weighted-average purchase costs in China of domestic production iron ore and import iron ore fines rose by 1.33 percent and 0.13 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).

In March this year, the weighted-average purchase cost of coking coal, metallurgical coke and import iron ore decreased by 0.69 percent, 0.56 percent and 1.13 percent month on month, while the weighted-average purchase costs of Chinese domestic production iron ore fines (dry basis), and ferrous scrap increased by 2.22 percent and 1.06 percent month on month, respectively.
