Chinese Baohsan to focus on steel sheet production
The major Chinese steel maker Baoshan Iron and Steel Co. Ltd., is making plans to increase steel sheet
production this year, focusing on sales to
automotive industry.
Company officials expressed that they aim to raise the auto sheet sales by 5-6% and bring it up to 1.3 million tons in 2003. Meeting approximately 51% of the total
consumption of the domestic
production, the company intends to establish long term strategic partnerships with important companies in the
automotive industry.
