CAAM: China’s passenger vehicle output up four percent in January-July

In July this year, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China amounted to  1.3013 million units and 1.2686 million units, decreasing by 18 percent and 16.1 percent month on month, while down 11.6 percent and 6.6 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) on August 11. In the January-July period this year, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China totaled 11.6290 million units and 11.3642 million units, up 4.0 percent and 3.4 percent year on year, respectively.
 
As for commercial vehicles, domestic output and sales in July amounted to 216,700 units and 234,400 units, down 17.7 percent and 19.6 percent month on month, while increasing by 12.5 percent and 9.9 percent year on year, respectively. In the January-July period, domestic output and sales of commercial vehicles totaled 1.9837 million units and 1.9891million units, down 14.6 percent and 13.9 percent year on year, respectively.
 
In the January-July period this year, China’s auto export volume totaled 445,800 units, down 13.7 percent year on year, including 253,700 passenger vehicles and 192,100 commercial vehicles, down 16.1 percent and declining by 10.4 percent year on year, respectively.
