Chinese-Algerian partnership to develop Gara Djebilet iron ore project

The Chinese consortium CMH and Algerian state-owned steelmaker FERAAL have signed a partnership agreement to develop the Gara Djebilet Mine Project in Tindouf, located in southern Algeria, according to media reports.

The project, which is expected to have an annual production capacity of two million mt of iron ore by 2026 and a capacity of 50 million mt by 2040, is forecast to support the Algerian steel industry by reducing imports.
