China’s seamless pipe exports up 18.8 percent in Jan-July

According to customs statistics provided by China’s National Bureau of Statistics, in July of the current year China exported 470,900 mt of seamless pipes, down 2.44 percent compared to June but up 3.53 percent year on year. In the given month, export volumes of seamless pipe used for oil and gas transmission pipeline and oil and gas drilling totaled 199,000 mt and 200,000 mt, respectively.
 
Meanwhile, in July, China imported 16,300 mt of seamless pipes, decreasing by 13.46 percent year on year and down 12.13 percent month on month.
 
In the January-July period of this year, total seamless pipe exports of China amounted to 2,966,100 mt, increasing by 18.84 percent on year-on-year basis. Meanwhile, China exported 2,258,700 mt of welded steel pipes in the first seven months of this year, up 11.57 percent compared to the same period of last year.
