China’s scrap exports total 333,018 mt in January-August

In August this year, China exported 1,697 mt of steel scrap, down 99.6 percent year on year, according to the monthly import and export data issued by the Chinese customs authorities. 

In the January-August period of this year, China exported 333,018 mt of scrap, down 62.1 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, China imported 80,000 mt of scrap in August this year, down 41.4 percent year on year. In the January-August period, China's scrap imports totaled 1.01 million mt, decreasing by 36.4 percent year on year.
