In October this year, China’s rebar production amounted to 22.067 million mt, up 3.73 percent month on month, while rising by 11.9 percent year on year, mainly due to firm demand in the local market owing to infrastructure construction in the given month.

In the January-October period this year, China's rebar production amounted to 206.955 million mt, up 18.4 percent year on year, as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

At the same time, China’s wire rod production amounted to 13.46 million mt in October, down 2.18 percent month on month, while rising by 0.5 percent year on year. In the January-October period this year, China's wire rod production totaled 132.708 million mt, up 10.4 percent year on year, with this increase rate down 1.4 percentage points from the January-September period. Production restriction measures issued by several regions in China as well as slack demand contributed to the output decline in the given period.
