Germany-based plantmaker SMS Group has announced that it will supply core components for the high-speed wire rod mill of China-based steelmaker Jianlong Beiman Special Steel Co., Ltd., based in Qiqihar, China. Commissioning is planned for the spring 2019.
SMS stated that the centerpiece of the new wire rod mill, which has an annual capacity of 500,000 mt, is the ten-stand wire rod finishing block. SMS will also supply to Jianlong Beiman a loop layer and two cantilever compact roughing stands for its high-speed wire rod mill.
The rolling schedule includes wire rod with diameters from 5.5 mm to 25 mm, and rebar with diameters ranging from six mm to 16 mm.
