China’s iron ore imports increase by 0.2 percent in January-April

In April this year, China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate amounted to 82.92 million mt, down 3.3 percent month on month and increasing by 0.8 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on May 8. In the January-April period of this year, China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate amounted to 353.401 million mt, up 0.2 percent year on year.

In April, China imported 1.045 million mt of finished steel, down 15.3 percent month on month and decreasing by 3.2 percent year on year. In the January-April period of the year, China imported 4.496 million mt of finished steel, down 1.3 percent year on year.
