China issues iron ore import licenses for 112.9271 million mt in Feb

The China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) has announced that in February this year China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC) issued iron ore import licenses for a total of 112.9271 million mt, down 44.1 percent month on month, valued at $8.395 billion. 

In February this year, the iron ore import licenses issued by China for Australian and Brazilian iron ore amounted to 70.8929 million mt and 21.9756 million mt respectively, down 39.45 percent and 49.95 percent month on month, with respective values of $5.018 billion and $1.848 billion.

Licenses issued for imports of Indian iron ore in February amounted to 1.984 million mt, down 25.4 percent month on month, valued at $145 million, while licenses issued for iron ore from other countries amounted to 18.0745 million mt, valued at $1.384 billion.
