China's iron ore imports decrease by 8.4 percent in January-February

In the January-February period this year, China’s iron ore imports amounted to 191.361 million mt, down 8.4 percent year on year, according to the latest data released by China's General Administration of Customs (GACC).

The slack demand from steelmakers due to the Chinese New Year holiday exerted a negative impact on the demand for iron ore, dragging down the import volume in the given period.
