China’s iron ore imports decrease by 1.6 percent in January-September

In September this year, China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate amounted to 93.471 million mt, up 4.6 percent month on month and decreasing by 9.1 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on October 12. In the January-September period of this year, China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate totaled 803.342 million mt, down 1.6 percent year on year.

In September, China imported 1.204 million mt of finished steel, up 13.2 percent month on month and decreasing by 2.9 percent year on year. In the January-September period of this year, China imported 9.966 million mt of finished steel, down 0.4 percent year on year.
