China’s finished steel exports rise by 116 percent in January-September

According to the new figures issued by the Chinese customs authorities, in September this year China's export volume of finished steel products reached 3.01 million mt, up 210,000 mt compared with August and increasing by 21.86 percent year on year. For the first nine months of 2010, China's total exports of finished steel amounted to 33.94 million mt, up 116.1 percent as compared to the same period of last year.

On the import side, China imported a total of 1.32 million mt of finished steel products in September, down 30.89 percent year on year. In the January-September period, total imports of the products in question reached 12.5 million mt, down 6.6 percent in comparison with the corresponding period of 2009.
