In April this year, China’s excavator sales increased to 45,400 units, up 59.9 percent year on year, while declining by 8.1 percent compared to 49,408 units recorded in March, as announced by the China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA). Demand from downstream users in China has been quite good, while there is some shortage of supply.

In the January-April period of the year, China’s excavator sales amounted to 114,100 units, up 10.5 percent year on year.

In April, excavator sales in the domestic market amounted to 43,400 units, up 64.5 percent year on year, while sales to the export market totaled 2,055 units, up 0.9 percent year on year.

Large-scale infrastructure construction projects and real estate projects in China have essentially resumed full operation, resulting in a significant shortage of 20 mt excavators. It is expected that the excavator sales will continue to rise strongly in May.
