China’s crude steel output down 2.1 percent in January-September

In September this year, China’s pig iron, crude steel and finished steel outputs amounted to 56.59 million mt, 66.12 million mt and 94.69 million mt, indicating respective year-on-year decreases of 4.9 percent, 3.0 percent and 0.6 percent, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on October 19.
 
In the January-September period of the current year, China’s pig iron, crude steel and finished steel outputs totaled 528.38 million mt, 608.94million mt and 840.24 million mt, down 3.3 percent, decreasing by 2.1 percent and rising by 1.1 percent year on year, respectively.
