China’s coal imports increase by 88.6 percent in January-July

In the January-July period of the current year, China’s coal imports amounted to 261.184 million mt, increasing by 88.6 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on August 8.

In July alone, China’s coal imports totaled 39.26 million mt, down 1.5 percent month on month, while rising by 66.9 percent compared to the same period last year.
