China’s auto sales and output decline in July from June levels

According to the China Automobile Manufacturers Association (CAMA), in July this year Chinese auto sales came to 1.28 million units, down 11.19 percent compared to June and up 2.18 percent year on year, while China's auto output in July was 1.31 million units, decreasing 6.96 percent from June and rising by 1.26 percent as compared to the corresponding period of last year.
 
In particular, in July this year passenger car sales in China declined by 8.78 percent month on month to 1.01 million units, while China's output of passenger cars dropped by 9.26 percent from the prior month to 1.05 million units. At the same time, the sales and output volumes of commercial vehicles in China in the month of July were respectively 263,500 units and 255,700 units, decreasing by 19.36 percent and 9.26 percent when compared to the previous month.
 
In the January-July period, China's auto sales and output totaled 10.6 million units and 10.46 million units respectively, indicating increases of 3.22 percent and 2.33 percent year on year.
