The China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) has announced that in November this year China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC) issued iron ore import licenses for a total of 112.528 million mt, up 6.16 percent month on month, valued at $7.333 billion. In the January-November period of the current year, the MOC issued iron ore import licenses for a total of 1.3202527 billion mt, valued at $93.835 billion.
In November this year, the iron ore import licenses issued by China for Australian and Brazilian iron ore amounted to 70.2703 million mt and 24.2173 million mt respectively, up 4.28 percent and 2.63 percent month on month, with respective values of $4.418 billion and $1.648 billion. In the January-November period of the current year, the iron ore import licenses issued for Australian and Brazilian iron ore totaled 811.4033 million mt and 280.1157 million mt, valued at $526.673 billion and $21.172 billion, respectively.
Licenses issued for imports of Indian iron ore in November amounted to 1.6415 million mt, up 41.36 percent month on month, valued at $150 million, while licenses issued for iron ore from other countries amounted to 16.3989 million mt, valued at $1.116 billion. In the January-November period of the current year, the import licenses issued for iron ore from India and
other countries amounted to 33.5237 million mt and 195.21 million mt, valued at $2.437 billion and $13.553 billion, respectively.
