China issues iron ore import licenses for 106.3669 million mt in April

The China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) has announced that in April this year China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC) issued iron ore import licenses for a total of 106.3669 million mt, down 21.78 percent month on month, valued at $8.156 billion.
 
In April this year, the iron ore import licenses issued by China for Australian and Brazilian iron ore amounted to 60.1423 million mt and 24.1259 million mt respectively, down 24.79 percent and 14.04 percent month on month, with respective values of $4.582 billion and $1.937 billion. 

Licenses issued for imports of India iron ore in April amounted to 4.7309 million mt, down 22.13 percent month on month, valued at $292 million, while licenses issued for iron ore from other countries amounted to 17.3678 million mt, valued at $1.346 billion.
