China began renovation of 27,100 old urban neighborhoods in 2025

In 2025, China started new construction works on renovating 27,100 old urban neighborhoods, with an overall investment of RMB 133.2 billion ($19 billion), as announced by China’s Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD).

The full target for 2025 was to start renovation of 25,000 old urban neighborhoods, signaling that the annual target was exceeded.
