Major Chinese steelmaker Hebei Iron and Steel Group’s subsidiary Chengde Iron and Steel Corporation has upgraded its 1,780 mm hot rolled steel production line and accordingly plans to produce 2,000 mt of chequered steel plate in November.
Chengde Iron and Steel has signed a contract with six customers, including Tianjin City Xingwang Weiye Steel Trade Co., Ltd and Langfang Zhengtai Materials Co., Ltd, to supply a total of about 5,000 mt of hot rolled chequered plate in November and in subsequent months.
On September 3 this year, the No. 2 vanadium steel rolling mill of Chengde Iron and Steel produced 335.62 mt of chequered plate - the first time the company produced this product.
