Mechel stated that the repairs were made at the workshop’s steel processing unit and steel billet continuous caster, which have been equipped with a modern dust and gas cleaning complex and closed-cycle water supply that enable them to work with maximum filtering efficiency.

Anatoly Schetinin, managing director of Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant, stated that the oxygen converter workshop has undergone a major reconstruction over the past few years, nearly all key units were replaced, and the plant has put outdated units out of operation.
