Canadian iron ore production up 14.5 percent in May

According to Statistics Canada, Canada produced 6,040,421 mt of iron ore concentrates in May, up 14.5 percent from April and up 59.1 percent from May 2021.

Canadian iron ore producers shipped 2,781,223 mt of iron ore concentrates in May, down 19.3 percent from April but up 1.9 percent from May 2021.

Closing inventories of iron ore concentrates at Canadian producers totaled 8,480,120 mt in May, compared to 6,909,875 mt in April and 5,041,238 mt in May 2021.
