Canadian iron ore production down 3.8 percent in May

According to Statistics Canada, Canada produced 4,893,182 mt of iron ore concentrates in May, down 3.8 percent from April and down 7.2 percent from May 2020.

Canadian iron ore producers shipped 3,292,372 mt of iron ore concentrates in May, up 0.6 percent from April but down 18.1 percent from May 2020.

Closing inventories of iron ore concentrates at Canadian producers totaled 6,328,292 mt in May, compared to 5,806,776 mt in April and 8,133,668 mt in May 2020.
