Canadian iron ore production down 2.6 percent in February

According to Statistics Canada, Canada produced 4,732,339 mt of iron ore concentrates in February, down 2.6 percent from January but up 6.7 percent from February 2021.

Canadian iron ore producers shipped 2,120,307 mt of iron ore concentrates in February, down 6.7 percent from January and down 7.9 percent from February 2021.

Closing inventories of iron ore concentrates at Canadian producers totaled 6,948,598 mt in February, compared to 5,199,041 mt in January and 5,036,703 mt in February 2021.
