Canadian coking coal production up 5.7 percent in October

According to Statistics Canada, coking coal production reached 194,245 mt in October 2017, up 5.7 percent from the 182,512 mt produced in September. On a year-on-year analysis, production reflected a 6.5 percent increase from the 182,329 mt produced in October 2016.

The supply of coking coal in Canada in October reached 263,936 mt, which represents a 15.8 percent increase from the 227,975 mt of supply in September and a 23.2 percent increase from the 214,166 mt of supply in October 2016.
