Canadian coking coal production up 1.7 percent in October

According to Statistics Canada, coking coal production reached 212,294 mt in October 2018, up 1.7 percent from the 208,673 mt produced in September. On a year-on-year analysis, coking coal production was up 9.3 percent from the 194,245 mt reported in October 2017.

The supply of coking coal in Canada in October reached 258,387 mt, which represents a 9.1 percent increase from the 236,895 mt of supply in September, and a 2.1 percent decrease from the 263,936 mt of supply in October 2017.
