Canadian coking coal production up 0.2 percent in August

According to Statistics Canada, coking coal production reached 211,414 mt in August 2018, up 0.2 percent from the 210,930 mt produced in July. On a year-on-year analysis, coking coal production was up 15.8 percent from the 182,512 mt reported in August 2017.

The supply of coking coal in Canada in August reached 279,379 mt, which represents a 13.5 percent increase from the 246,203 mt of supply in July, and a 5.8 percent increase from the 263,996 mt of supply in August 2017.
